Myelodysplastic Syndrome
Under the direction of Dr. Azra Raza, a team of clinical and basic science researchers
experienced in the study and treatment of Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) is working at
St. Vincent's to develop more effective therapies. The MDS Program is unique in that the
team has built a national referral base for MDS treatment and research with a large enough
patient population for meaningful clinical trials. Patients travel from all over the country
to receive the latest and most cutting-edge therapies for their MDS, and to participate in
molecular and genetic studies of their bone marrows, which sheds more light on their particular
form of the disease and allows for individualized therapies.
Leukemia
St. Vincent's Comprehensive Cancer Center offers patients access to a team of experts who
specialize in the treatment and research of hematologic malignancies including Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia,
Chronic Myeloid Leukemia, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, and Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Clinical
trials and support services are available for the benefit of our patients.
